Terms of Service

By accessing or using Juriva (the "Service"), operated by Juriva Ltd ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Juriva Ltd. By creating an account, clicking "I agree", or otherwise using the Service, you represent that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms.

Juriva is an AI-powered legal information platform. The Service provides:

• Conversational AI responses to legal questions, powered by large language models;
• Document upload and analysis tools;
• Legal news and regulatory updates;
• Deadline tracking and reminder tools;
• Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) over publicly available legal texts including the U.S. Code and Code of Federal Regulations.

The Service is designed to assist users in understanding legal concepts, researching the law, and preparing for interactions with legal professionals. It is not designed to replace those professionals.

Juriva is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. All content generated by the Service — including AI chat responses, document analyses, summaries, and any other output — constitutes general legal information only.

Legal information is general educational content about the law. Legal advice is specific guidance given by a qualified solicitor or attorney who has reviewed the particular facts of your situation and formed a professional opinion. Juriva provides the former, not the latter.

Nothing on the Service should be construed as:

• Legal advice specific to your individual circumstances;
• A recommendation to take or refrain from any legal action;
• An opinion on the merits of any legal claim or defence;
• A substitute for consultation with a qualified solicitor, barrister, or attorney.

Laws vary significantly by jurisdiction, change frequently, and their application depends heavily on specific facts. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. You should always verify any information obtained through the Service with a qualified legal professional before taking or refraining from any action.

We expressly disclaim any liability arising from reliance on content generated by the Service without independent professional verification.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years of age;
• You have full legal capacity to enter into these Terms;
• Your use of the Service complies with all laws applicable to you;
• You are not located in a jurisdiction where providing this Service would be prohibited.

You must register an account to access most features of the Service. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration;
• Maintain the security of your password and not share your credentials with others;
• Notify us immediately at legal@juriva-ai.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account;
• Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account, whether authorised by you or not.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts where we reasonably suspect a breach of security or a violation of these Terms.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Provide false, misleading, or deceptive information;
• Attempt to obtain legal advice for use in actual litigation without engaging a qualified attorney;
• Submit queries involving unlawful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or threatening content;
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the Service;
• Circumvent any technical measures protecting the Service;
• Resell or commercially redistribute AI-generated output without our written permission;
• Upload documents containing personal data of third parties without their consent;
• Violate any applicable law, including data protection laws, intellectual property laws, or professional conduct rules.

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly cycle. All prices are shown in US Dollars (USD) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes where required by law.

Payment is processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. You can cancel at any time via your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

We reserve the right to modify pricing on 30 days' advance written notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of a price change constitutes your acceptance of the new pricing.

All content, software, trademarks, logos, and other intellectual property on the Service (excluding user-submitted content) are owned by or licensed to Juriva Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our prior written consent, except as expressly permitted in these Terms.

AI-generated output produced specifically in response to your queries is provided to you under a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for your personal or internal business use only. You may export and share this output, but you may not resell it or hold it out as legal advice.

You retain ownership of documents and text you upload to the Service. By submitting content, you grantJuriva Ltd a limited licence to process that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not use your submitted content to train our AI models without your explicit consent.

You represent and warrant that you have the right to submit all content you upload, and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please read it carefully to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

The Service integrates with third-party providers including Groq (AI inference), Pinecone (vector search), Supabase (database), and Stripe (payments). Your use of those integrations is subject to each provider's terms. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or security of third-party services.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY.

We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free; (b) any information obtained through the Service is accurate, complete, reliable, or current; or (c) the Service is free from viruses or other harmful components.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, JURIVA LTD AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM: (A) YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE; (B) RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED CONTENT; OR (C) ANY UNAUTHORISED ACCESS TO YOUR DATA.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (I) THE TOTAL FEES PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE THREE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (II) £100 / $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain liabilities. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Juriva Ltd and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your breach of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party rights.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at legal@juriva-ai.com.

Upon termination: (a) your licence to use the Service ends; (b) we may delete your account data after a 30-day grace period; and (c) Sections 3, 8, 12, 13, 14, and 16 survive termination.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless you reside in the United States, in which case disputes shall be resolved under the laws of the State of Delaware, with disputes submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer based in the UK or European Union, you retain any statutory rights available to you under applicable consumer protection law, which these Terms do not affect.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and/or by displaying a prominent notice within the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
